If you’re wondering what to do with this very un-February-like weather this weekend, this Sunday marks the final day for the Marin Designers’ Showcase in Northern California.
Named “Villa Belvedere,” this year’s showhouse is a brand new construction property on the San Francisco Bay, spanning 15,500 square feet (it’s also on the market for a cool $45 million). The site is transformed by 24 leading designers, chosen to create sophisticated rooms that are showcased during the February event, with ticket proceeds benefiting the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership.
Lumens was lucky enough to partner with interior designer Katie Denham in her design of Guest Suite I. The room is located on the home’s lower level, featuring hardwood floors, a patio terrace and un. be. lievable. views of the San Francisco Bay. Looking out the window of the room, the view is so picturesque it looks like a piece of art:
Denham chose two contemporary lighting fixtures by Arteriors to light the space of the guest suite: the restoration-style Lane Desk Lamp by Arteriors Home, and the Monahan Floor Lamp by Arteriors Home, another restoration-style piece with tripod legs and modern vintage appeal. Denham custom-designed several furniture pieces for the space: the area rug, the steel bench, and the mahogany four-poster bed and desk. The wall sculpture of sails, titled “Seven” by Stuart Allen and provided by Jay Jay Gallery in Sacramento.
The room is beautiful, but we also love the smaller details Denham carefully curated for the space: the fun nightstand (a glass vat with a tramp art chain made of bottle caps inside), the throw over the bed, and the just-right red shelving.
Check out the rest of the details in Denham’s blog post here, and be sure to visit the showcase if you’re in Northern California.
Villa Belvedere (in Belevedere, CA) showhouse will be open from 10 am – 3 pm Saturday and 10 am – 4 pm Sunday.
