Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola has designed a new collection of lamps for Italian lighting manufacturer Flos: Tatou. A table lamp, floor lamp and suspension lamp, Tatou by Flos was originally inspired by ancient samurai armor. Her large prototypes were large, heavy and metal, so Urquiola scaled down to a more approachable design, using more flexible polycarbonate. The final design was light but protective, and Urquiola named it Tatou (armadillo in French), since the look is evocative of the animal’s shell.
Please send me sales information about the Tatou pendant light, the smaller one – and how much does it cost. Thank you.
