Project Profile: Pangaea Interior Design ‘Serves Up’ Design for Lupus Awareness

2014 January 9

Lumens Trade Partner Pangaea Interior Design is a Portland-based firm specializing in residential design. Last fall, principal designer Pangaea took her talents to a new realm as part of “Serving up Style” in the Portland Home & Garden Show. Pangaea was one of 24 designers selected to create a dining space to showcase at the event, which benefitted Molly’s Fund, an organization dedicated to Lupus awareness. Here’s a look at how it turned out:

We worked with LBL Lighting and ET2 Lighting to fit Pangaea’s showcase with the vision she wanted: a space where “each element feels like art, from the sculpture and painting to the lighting elements, and even the accessories.”

The real showstopper was Pangaea’s custom chandelier, which was created with LBL Lighting’s Lily Pendants. Using 14 pendants in 3 colors and 2 sizes, Pangaea reimagined the fixture with a cluster of Lilies that hung like teardrops over the dining table.

Not to mention, her space was also a finalist for best lighting at the show. The room also featured ET2 Lighting’s Cassini Wall Sconce, which complimented the space well, with its Murano Glass “petals.” These fixtures work as functional art, thanks to their striking appearance and play between light and shadow.

Thanks to Pangaea for letting us be a part of Serving Up Style! Be sure to check out more of her work right here.
