Even though Lee Broom launched his furniture and design collection in the last decade, he’s quickly become a regular collector of British Design Awards. In 2011, he was recognizes as Designer of the year, thanks to his knack for designs that embody British style yet present something new, modern and unexpected. One of our favorites is his Crystal Bulb, a seemingly simple bulb pendant with hand-cut decorative crystal detailing.
Lee Broom started out in theatre school, and notes that his beginnings have played a large role in the drama and narrative presented by his designs. After winning a fashion design competition at the mere age of 17, Broom went on to work for Vivienne Westwood, eventually studying fashion design and moving onto to interiors and furniture design. He now boasts a number of awards and collaborations, plus a portfolio that spans lighting, accessories and furniture designs.
