It’s been a design-filled week so far at the 2015 Salone del Mobile show in Milan, Italy. We’ve had a chance to meet world-renown designers for some of the top lighting and furniture design brands including one of our favorites, Kartell.
There are a lot of new, exciting products in the works and we were able to grab a handful of photos of the Kartell designs we are loving.
Uncle Jim Armchair
Have you met the Uncle Jim Armchair
? New from Philippe Starck for Kartell, the Uncle Jim Armchair is one of the many new Starck designs we’re excited about. It’s molded from one piece of transparent polycarbonate with an extra tall, ergonomic back that flows into its large arms. It’s a comfortable chair and perfect indoors or out.
A comfortably seated Piero Lissoni discusses the ultra-sleek and ultra-light Piuma Chair he recently designed for Kartell. Lissoni designed the Piuma Chair to be extremely lightweight, manufactured from an innovative charged polyamide fibre that allows it to be both flexible and durable.
Philippe Starck and Ambroise Maggiar designed the Abbracciao Candelabra
to embrace the concept of candlelight being the light of romance. This candelabra’s design resembles a form that looks like two figures actually hugging. It’s available in multiple finishes and is sure to be gracing contemporary spaces soon.
Colorful New Accessories
In addition to modern furniture, Kartell is also a leader in designing home accessories and introduced new colors at Salone del Mobile. Included in this assortment is one of our favorite bookshelves, the Bookworm Shelf
, and it will soon be available in a bright new version.
