In honor of it being National Ceiling Fan Week, we wanted to take a minute to highlight five of our favorite ceiling fans fitting a rustic theme. Rustic ceiling fans embrace the qualities we love about modern ceiling fan design while also allowing you to give your space a natural, outdoorsy look and feel.

Without further ado, here are our fave five rustic fans:

1. Aviation Ceiling Fan

Minka Aire Aviation Ceiling Fan

While you might expect to see Minka Aire’s customer-favorite Artemis Ceiling Fan at the top of this list, we’re especially liking the Aviation Ceiling Fan. This sleek, 3-blade design is modeled after the wood propellers found on WWI-era airplanes. As you look up at the fan from below, you’ll notice this fan is strikingly reminiscent to old planes (partly why it is dubbed the Aviation Ceiling Fan). It’s available in distressed koa, rosewood and maple color options to fit a rustic theme.

2. Irene Hugger Ceiling Fan

Atlas Fans Irene Hugger Fan

Next up is the Irene Hugger Fan from Atlas Fans. This gorgeous 3-blade wood design perfectly establishes a space as rustic modern and it features an energy efficient DC powered motor. The Irene fan is also highly versatile in its size (offered in 42″ or 52″ blade spans), operates in 6 different speeds, is reversible for year-round use and it comes with a remote for added convenience. Its blades are made of solid stained walnut and the motor body is available in brushed nickel, gloss white, matte black, polished chrome or textured bronze.

3. Dylan Ceiling Fan

Monte Carlo Dylan Ceiling Fan

Ranging from rustic to traditionally styled spaces, the Dylan Ceiling Fan from Monte Carlo Fans is versatile choice you’ll have no problem introducing to your home. Its curved design allows it to become an eye-catching focal point of a room while its high-CFM operation brings the efficiency you need to keep cool. Comprised of dark walnut or weathered oak blades and a brass or pewter motor body, Dylan is at once charming and rugged enough to successfully complement spaces filled with wood tones. It’s also UL listed as wet for safe outdoor use on decks and patios where water may be present.

4. Glen Arbor Ceiling Fan

Casablanca Glen Arbor Ceiling Fan

New from Casablanca Fans is the Glen Arbor Ceiling Fan. Inspired by traditional Japanese woodworking and a philosophy of learning by repetition, this rustic modern fan combines metallic tones with good wood looks to deliver a natural and chic fan meant to be put on display in living rooms and great rooms. The Glen Arbor fan also spreads a significant amount of light through its included integrated LED light kit. The use of LED lighting makes it an energy efficient choice and you’ll especially love the look of the louvered shade around the encased light fixture. Along with its louvered shade are 3 weathered plywood blades and a quiet, direct drive motor finished in metallic chocolate or metallic birch. You go Glen Arbor.

5. Maverick Ceiling Fan

Monte Carlo Maverick Ceiling Fan

Rounding out the list is the Maverick Ceiling Fan from Monte Carlo Fans. Indoors or outdoors, Maverick makes a rustic statement from its mix of balsa wood blades and metallic finishes. The shape of the fan follows a minimalist design that allows it to work well in a variety of contemporary locations ranging from kitchens and bedrooms to living rooms and home offices. And thanks to its damp UL listing, you can incorporate it into you outdoor living area too. Exceptional quality is found in the hand-carved blades and if it’s efficiency you’re after, you’ll find it in the 6-speed DC powered motor and high-CFM. Finally, to complement Maverick’s design and features is a convenient hand-held remote control for the fan.
