The 2015 Oscars took place last night and like most award shows, the celebs were dressed to the nines. While there is no doubt the Oscar nominees were well dressed at last night’s 87th award show, we were busy noticing similarities between the outstanding dresses and lighting designs. Here are five dresses that really caught our attention.
Jennifer Aniston & The Refrax Wave by Schonbek
Jennifer Aniston’s Versace dress was sparkling at the 2015 Academy Awards yesterday and we found it oddly reminiscent of the glimmering shine from the crystals in the Refrax Wave by Schonbek. Schonbek, known for elegant crystal lighting designs, embodies luxury in its Refrax Wave suspension. Much like Jennifer’s dress, the Refrax Wave shines with luxury anywhere it is placed.
Laura Dern & The Etch Pendant by Tom Dixon
Laura Dern was wearing a black and silver gown last night from well known Italian fashion designer, Alberta Ferretti. The black and silver of her dress was stunning and we saw many similarities with the black finish of the Etch Pendant by Tom Dixon. This pendant is no doubt a favorite among the Lumens team and we loved seeing Laura Dern in a similarly-patterned dress.
Reese Witherspoon & The Circle Pendant by Louis Poulsen
Best actress nominee Reese Witherspoon was wearing a black and white gown designed by American fashion designer, Tom Ford. Its clean lines and simplistic black and white design is familiar in the Circle Pendant by Louis Poulsen. The LP Circle Pendant reinforces the modernist lineage of clean and minimalist lines that were also captured in Reese’s dress last night.
Jamie Chung & The Zanadoo Chandelier by Arteriors
Jamie Chung arrived at the award show in a beautiful dress designed by Yanina Couture that featured a Sputnik pattern we adore. The Sputnik pattern in the dress is very similar to one of our favorite chandeliers, the Zanadoo by Arteriors. Both the Zanadoo Chandelier and the Oscars rookie show off a design that is opulent, futuristic and bursting with retro flair.
Marion Cotillard & The Dandelion Pendant by Moooi
French actress Marion Cotillard arrived to the 87th Academy Awards in a remarkable gown from Dior with a circular pattern that is also found in the Dandelion Pendant by Moooi. Although Richard Hutton’s design for Moooi was not actually at the award show, we loved seeing a dress that resembled it.
